SUMMER TOURNAMENTS

2022/23 Season

Following the regular season, London Japanese participated in a number of tournaments throughout the summer of 2023 – a huge thanks to all that helped to organise and participate in these:

1. Rolls Royce 7s – Derby – May 13th

The team went undefeated into the final and came away winning the tournament!
MOTM: Tetsuo Yamamoto

2. Summer Social – Richmond – June 3rd

We played some high ranking teams, but sadly couldn’t get out of the pool. Regardless, good 7’s was played with a big party after!
MOTM: Ben Pooley

3. London International 7s – Acton – July 8th

Two teams, sponsored by Phenomenally pink and Unite teamwear, managed many victories. LJ Samurai narrowly lost their semi final to Sharaf Chargers
MOTM: Yoshi Todani (who’s amazing play later went viral!).

4. Hackney 10s – Hackney – July 29th

We narrowly lost to Old Downbadians, but went on to win the subsequent 2 matches and finish runners-up!
MOTM: Antonio Ventosa

5. Braintree 7s – Braintree – August 5th

A barbarian 7’s squad headed to Braintree for the annual 7’s, making a semi final in adverse conditions – wettest day of summer!
MOTM: Matt Burson

6. Inaugural LJ Touch Tornament – Acton – September 2nd

The inaugural social touch tournament was a huge success and a great way to round off the end of the season!
